Best. Winter. Ever.

As temperatures start to warm up, we have to show off the epic, record-breaking ski season we facilitated! With support from Atomic Coffee Roasters, Mt. Wachusett Ski staff, volunteers, and our neighborhood partners, our Elevate Youth adventurers got to enjoy fresh pow on multiple ski trips.

Massachusetts received the most snow in years, with some areas logging the highest snowfall ever. This was good news for Elevate Youth, which broke some records of its own: the most kids yet hit the slopes with us! We facilitated cross country ski outings for 93 youth, and 67 middle schoolers tried downhill skiing. Many were hitting the slopes for their second time, after joining us last year, or for their very first time!

While skiing might seem like an individual sport, the kids tackled it together, enthusiastically cheering for all the other youth and, off the slopes, helping each other put on boots and carry gear.

Between runs, our staff and 10 amazing adult volunteers and chaperones enjoyed Loud Pow coffee, a special blend created for us by Atomic Coffee Roasters. Together, we broke yet another record, because people purchased the greatest amount of Loud Pow ever–over 1,000 bags–and it shipped to a whopping 34 states.

We are stoked to report that this collaboration raised about $3,000 for Elevate Youth, fully covering the cost of skiing for 48 kids!

We want to offer a HUGE thank you to Atomic Coffee Roasters for partnering with us for a third year.

Speaking of thank yous, we owe it to our ski bases, Mt. Wachusett and Weston Ski Track, and to our volunteers, with a special shout-out to John Luczkow Jr., who’s been part of our ski trips for several years now. Finally, if you supported this program, whether by giving time or a donation or making a coffee purchase, thank you!

You all made possible what Sarah, a beginner 10-year-old skier, described as “the best day ever.”
